Question Anyway to disable the 3D cache temporarily on Ryzen 7 5800X3D?

I was wondering this myself. Back in the 1990's you could disable cpu cache and I don't understand why they've removed that option nowadays.

Question Anyone burn out Ryzen CPU's PCI-E lanes?

PCIE lanes died with my ryzen 5800x and I have to run it at PCIE3x4 on the GPU slot for it to work. I bought a used ryzen 7 5800x last year for $230 when they were going for $350 new. Gaming performance was horrible and much worse than my previous ryzen 5 3600. I was using an x570 motherboard...

    Internet dropping = Computer freeze

Sounds like a driver problem or IRQ conflict. Is it USB or pci card wifi in your computer? If it's PCI try a different slot if possible. If it's USB is it connected to a USB hub? If so is a powered hub? What operating system? IS ACPI enabled in the bios?

Web page actions and scrolling causes beeping

One thing I know is that different people have different abilites. I'm sure you know things I wouldn't have a clue about. What I know about computers I learned by working at repair shops and one refurb place, and making stuff work when it breaks, and breaking stuff that worked :-) Oh, I'm 51 and...

Computer refuses to boot. Turns on, then off immediately.

It's not eVga's fault. I've seen almost every brand motherboard with this problem. There were millions of these bad capacitors from Taiwan supplied by parts distributors to manufacturers from 1999 to 2007. Intel, Dell, HP, video cards, cameras, DVD players, Apple; almost everyone was hit by this.

windows booting only after a "false start"

Your power supply can't handle the added current draw of your new video card. It takes a lot more power to start up your computer when it's off than it is to restart it with the reset button. The same thing that's happening to you happened to me when i upgraded my video card. I replaced my power...

Web page actions and scrolling causes beeping

You said "one power supply fan was slowing or stopping sometimes...." That's all it takes to overheat and damage the power supply permanently. Here's a quote from a well known tech website: "The voltage values of the VAN-520A are very stable all around. there's a little bit of jitter in the...

3.3 volts powers things like the AGP bus, southbridge, northbridge, and ram - maybe the PCI bus too, not sure. Pull all cards except video card and all ram except one and see if 3.3 volts fluctuates while scrolling a web page. If that fixes the fluctuation problem, put one device back at a time...

Web page actions and scrolling causes beeping

I had this happen to me a couple of months ago. Your video card beeps when the voltage gets too low, so your power supply is either overloaded or going bad. Scrolling web pages somehow makes the card beep in this situation. Replace your power supply before it goes up in smoke and takes your...

How to unlock Pipelines and Vertex Shader on a 6800 (nu/le/gs)

Thank you very much for that link, sir. Hopefully sometime this weekend I'll have time to permanently open all 16 pixel pipelines while leaving the bad vertex unit closed. I'll report back with details. Edit: As of February 11th 2006, I still haven't found the time to flash my bios with the...

How to unlock Pipelines and Vertex Shader on a 6800 (nu/le/gs)

I have the same problem. I've been using my rivatuner modded 6800 for over 6 months now and want to permanently save the rivatuner settings to the bios. The really tragic thing is that I spent about a whole day 6 months ago finding out how to do this and I found the information somewhere, and...

How to unlock Pipelines and Vertex Shader on a 6800 (nu/le/gs)

I tried several different drivers over the weekend and one driver was far faster than any other for me - the Xtreme G 77.62 HD Type 1. Games play smoother with obviously higher framerates. The instructions and information in this thread have helped me a lot and made my unlocked and overclocked...

How to unlock Pipelines and Vertex Shader on a 6800 (nu/le/gs)

Hi, Kogan. If you get flickering textures, it may be the vertex unit you unlocked that's causing that. Try leaving the extra vertex unit locked and just unlock the extra pixel unit. If you still have flickering textures, try it the other way around. In other words, leave the extra pixel unit...

How to unlock Pipelines and Vertex Shader on a 6800 (nu/le/gs)

I've got one for you 2Xtreme21. Fire up Half Life 2 and start a new game on the water hazard level 4. You'll start out standing next to your airboat. Take off and you'll go over a ledge, then you'll have to crash through the exit of the drainage pipe you're in through two boards in the way. At...
