COD Ghosts was a horrible PC port (even for a COD game) -- the stuttering/ lag etc...never got fixed. Total rip-off.
Can anyone playing advanced warfare confirm for me that this years iteration does not suffer from these issues?...or is it another badly done port?
I did see TB's youtube...
I keep a Win98 box -- all on vintage hardware.
CPU is an AMD 64 2200+ something or other. Mobo was based on a Via K8t800 chipset.
Using the fastest (and last) AGP card supported under Win 98 ---> the ATI x850 xt.
using SB Live sound card with a gameport.
Using a GDM FW 900 --- all...
I gave the game a try running it on a pair of sli'd titans and a 2600k@ 4400 with 8 gigs of ram --- the game ran like total crap with frequent lag, stutters etc... regardless of drivers, game settings --- single card or SLI --- worthless garbage. What little I did get to experience of the actual...
never had any problems with Win Vista/64 -- not worthwhile for me to upgrade to 7 and don't like what I heard about 8.1.
will probably go for Win 10 next year.
If DSR is unsupported in Win Vista, not a big loss.
The issue for me is that I don't think DSR is supported under Windows Vista --- I think that's why I don't have DSR enabled with my Titans?....but I can't find any documentation about this from Nvidia.
Just to let folks here know---> According to some posters over at the nvidia forums it seems that DSR is not supported under Vista (please don't start ranting about using Vista, I know already) --- but I didn't see Vista mentioned as a limiting factor with respect to DSR in the release notes...
I thought the most recent driver (344.48) rolled out DSR support for cards below the latest 9xx series. Yet, after installing the driver I don't see any options for DSR in either the NV control panel (general or program specific settings) or Gforce experience (where you supppsedly may have the...
absolutely agree -----> QTE's are horrible --- the other thing is pathetic scripting (mostly seen with COD and a few other FPS's) wherein passing an invisible barrier causes enemies to either stop spawning or continue to spawn until the next line is crossed.
Yes, I have been following that project with interest. However, at the end of the day I thought it would just be easier to build a legacy box as I had so many old parts available including an ATI 850XT PE AGP card --kind of hard to find (with an AGP interface). Fastest video card supported...
Thanks lxskllr...I was unfamiliar with Clonezilla.
One question though-----> it seems that using Clonezilla you cannot restore an image to a smaller disc (known limitation), however, what I am not clear on is can I "image" the primary disc (40 gb, with ~ 7 gigs of data) to a smaller disc...
