I have it. Had it for 2 days. Just search for EVGA Precision on Google. It does not beat RivaTuner, but it is more user-friendly for the new overclocker. I still prefer Rivatuner ;)

Actually, I believe the critical temperatures on the 8800GT would be around 110C. So even 86 is just fine :) GPUs run much hotter than CPUs these days, and they also have more heat tolerance.

Here are some suggestions: Motherboard: eVGA 750i SLI or MSI P7N SLI Platinum (get the eVGA if you can). Most newer video cards are able to perform perfectly in a Media Center. But if you may want to game, get an 8800GT (512mb). That way, you'll be all set for both Media Center and gaming...

I could get that card for 10$ less than what mine cost. I don't have any preferance between eVGA, BFG Tech and XFX. Yet I chose BFG, because I saw that the XFX card had that cheap heatsink. Wankers. :/

Actually, I'd say it's the motherboard. Many factors on a motherboard can easily determine performance... Could you provide a link to the motherboard specifications?

Just remember, the 9900 isn't out till July. Can be a long wait. And they aren't even sure that the 9900 is the GT200 yet, it's more likely that it's a 9800GTX with a larger bit interface, and a 55nm process... So it'd be like going from a GTS G80 to a GT or GTS G92, it'd be a large...

The best reason to always make your own damn system instead of buying an overpriced pre-built. And then you won't have to wait weeks to have your system fixed - you just take out the bad part, RMA it (as every individual part has a warranty then), and voila.

I had (actually, still have it lying in my drawer) a 16mb ATI Rage 128 Pro, and I believe it was the first AGP card I ever owned - and one of the first 5 AGP based cards to hit the shelves, I'm sure of it.

Does BFG allow overclocking without losing warranty? Would I lose the warranty with the BFG 8800GT OC if I overclocked it? Would I lose the warranty with the BFG 8800GT OC if I flashed the BIOS to an OC2? Considering the latter statement to be correct, would it be possible to flash...

So, as the topic states, there are lots of 8800GT cards, and I've rounded up a few that are cheap, yet good picks. I just need to know which one would be the best. I know these sites are on Danish, but the VGA specs should be very readable still. BFG 8800GT OC (512mb, PCI-E 2.0)...

If the Zalman cooler beats the reference, I'd say about 680-700 core without a voltmod. Don't know about the other two, but ajai is probably right.
