Right now, max 10 users. Want to start just serving and organizing documents (Less than a gig of PDFs, but a lot of the value would be in creating some custom database type modules.
I've got a spare Dell PowerEdge server laying around. I'd like to try and see if SharePoint would help us out here at work, but I'm not sure my hardware supports it. Anybody have any knowledge/tips?

Planning on only keeping it 7-10 years. Would conventional be better? I'm calculating it would be, but just wanting a third opinion.
If the numbers I am running are correct, I'm better off with the conventional until month 314.
