Odd behavior in my BIOSTAR BIOS

Copy the BST file to a FAT32 formatted usb key. Insert into one of the open USB ports on the back of your board. Restart and hit F12 key (multiple times as the board boots). You will see the flash utility pop up. Browse to the flash file on the usb key and confirm. Reboot after flash competes...

Odd behavior in my BIOSTAR BIOS

Have you tried to reflash your bios? Perhaps a bios corruption issue that most likey will be resolved with a reflash.

Help a brother out - dead P67 Extreme4 ?? What is my best path?

Solid board, PWM is a little weak (4 phase I think) but will handle that 2600K with ease.

    Biostar H61MHB with i5

No, 2500K should work on your board (minus any overclocking) without any bios updates.

ASUS Sabertooth x58 vs. ASUS P6X58D-E

My choice is P6X58D-E. I have this board and it has been rock stable with 24GB ram and I7-950 overclocked to 4Ghz for about a year now. The biggest negative for the sabertooth for me is the LAN is on the PCI bus as opposed to PCI-E bus. Cannot understand why Asus would do this, could have been a...

    P6x58d-e 0405 bios

Correct, however I remember reading somewhere about enhanced performance using this ROM version along with the new RST drivers (same version) from Intel. I will update this post if I can find the link to the thread/article. Let me know how the modified bios works for you

    P6x58d-e 0405 bios

The intel option ROM is integrated into the BIOS and cannot be flashed separately. If you choose the use the BIOS I linked above you will have to reflash the board with the downloaded BIOS file. Hope this clarifies.

    P6x58d-e 0405 bios

I have this board running 0405. My I7-950 is running 19*211 = 4009Mhz, 12GB RAM at DDR3-1692. Having said that, 0405 sadly comes with a pretty old intel option ROM version. I updated mine before flashing to 10.1.0.1008 the latest from Intel. No other changes were made. I recommend you update...

Need recommendation for AM2+ motherboard supporting ACC?

Asus boards are nice no doubt. You may also consider the Biostar 785GE 128M (Ver 6.1): http://www.amazon.com/BIOSTAR-Micro-...pr_product_top This is a AM2+/DDR2 with sideport memory board that will unlock and also take the new 6 core CPUs with a bios update (already available). I have...

ICH10R on X58, had a BSOD now RAID10 set is borked.

Can you tell us which of the pair is marked as failed by the Intel RAID Bios? WD (blacks especially) are notorious for dropping from RAID. As you know RAID 10 cannot tolerate 2 failed drives so you may be looking at data loss without a backup That said, I believe your drives are fine but just...

Intel Sending Out Previously RMA'd Motherboards as Warranty Replacements

Here is my RMA experience with Asus. I RMA'd P5K-E board with a brief note on the problem. Got a replacement board with a FULL test results sheet/report - they ran a battery of tests on the replacement board including the problem I had with my old board. Their testing included and reported...

    Fry's b&m instore E8400 & Ecs G31T-M $149.00 E7300

The ECS G31T-M is VERY stable board. Just update to the latest bios and enjoy. It will not overclock. If you are interested in overclocking (8400 E0 Stepping will overclock well), I suggest you look at Asus P5Q Pro or Gigabyte Ep45-UD3R/Ep45-UD3P. All these boards are available on Newegg...

    Reliable, Solid Intel board

Just remember Intel P45 boards (the one you have chosen included) uses DDR3 memory. Still very expensive with no performance gain over DDR2 in Core2Duo/Quad platform. My opinion is save your money and get a Asus P5Q Pro or Gigabyte Ep45-UD3P. Great boards, excellent stability and great...
