I have 4 bays on the enclosure. Two, master+slave combinations. I have 4 firewire outputs and 2 usb2 outputs. The problem happens when I use firewire outputs (daisy chained). If I use only one usb port, it does not happen. If I use two usb ports it happens again.

Can somebody explain what is the difference between a "router" and a "switch" ? Does the switch work similar to a router ? Or is it totally different ? Thanks

I have three computers with gigabit ethernet cards, and I have 1 IP address. If I connect these computers to the internet through a 100 Mbps router, can they still communicate with each other with gigabit performance ? Thanks
