A8N-SLI Noise Reduction For Two GPU's

They are quiet I guess, but STILL A FAN... And they may be to big to keep the Zalman ZM-NB47J fanless chipset cooler in place, so that would mean going back to the stock 8500 RPM fan, and I dont want to do that. Water cooled or the Zalman VF700-Cu GPU cooler may be the best options for now.

A8N-SLI Noise Reduction For Two GPU's

Hey Century, Water cooling is something I have been seriously considering. My only problem with it is that I take my computer over to a friends house a lot for LAN parties. And if I had to drag another peice of equipment and hook it up everytime I am afraid it will be a hassle. So still...

yeah that seems like they are about it. I would really rather have NO fans though...

    Problems with ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe

wow Pretty nice rig you have going there. I hope you get it to work. Does it post correctly? When you say it powers off does it make a sound? Like a "click" when you normally shut it off, does the PSU make a sound? Do you have both of the GPU's 6 pin connectors plugged in? And the...

Here are my updated temps: Northbridge Chip: With stock 8500 RPM Fan 33 c/91.7f Idle with case closed 43.2c / 109.7f under gaming load with case closed Zalman ZM-NB47J w/ Case Closed (Only PSU FANS ON) 48.1c/118.5 Idle with case closed 53.c / 127.4f Under load with case closed...

    a8n-sli chipset heatsink fan

Yep, the temps did look a bit high to me too, but I think it is bad air flow through the case. When the case is open the heatsync stays MUCH cooler. So I am considering a case mod to place a quiet fan over the chipset cooler and replace the GPU fans with fanless coolers (if I can find any...

A8N-SLI Noise Reduction For Two GPU's

It seems that there is a consensus that the Zalman ZM-NB47J fanless chipset cooler is sufficient for replacing the noisy 8500 RPM chipset fan. So I went that route with the chipset, and everything is running stable. (Although be aware that you may need to have good air movement through your...

    a8n-sli chipset heatsink fan

I also have the Zalman ZM-NB47J installed with two GPU's. So far zero stability problems. But as everyone is pointing out it does get hot. I took some un-scientific readings with a heat probe that I got at Fry's electronics. I picked a spot on the base of the heat sync between the heat sync fins...

    a8n-sli chipset heatsink fan

This is a bit off topic of North Bridge Chip cooling, but does anyone have a good quiet solution for two NVidia 6600GT video cards in the SLI mode? I was considering two Zalman ZM17-CU VGA coolers: LINK I am wondering if these will work with my two ASUS 6600GT's. I plan on doing some...

Asus A8n-SLI Windows 2000 Install Problem

I am all over the Zalman CPU fan, have that one. I do need a new power supply, I have this one: Vantec 520 watt But it is ridiculously loud...BUT IT STILL NOT THE LOUDEST THING IN THE CASE. The two VGA card fans and the Chipset fan are so loud!!!! I am thinking about doing this...

Asus A8n-SLI Windows 2000 Install Problem

Some Final thoughts on my install problems. I have seen other posts where the A:Floppy drive is listed as B: This problem was caused, I think, because I had my HDD's plugged into the red SATA RAID controller slots instead of into the black SATA slots. Not sure why that would make a...

Asus A8n-SLI Windows 2000 Install Problem

bummer, I was just looking through the Registry, and found this: C:Windows\system32\nvraidservice.exe I was debating whether this was a utilty program, or if this actually installed the raid each time on start up? EDIT: I made a back up of this and tried to delete it from the...
