How significant is the order of partitions? I understand that the first (outer) partitions are the fastest, but is the difference really perceptible?
Is there an option to install Vista on a separate folder along WinXP rather than upgrade the old OS? I'd like to have both on the same partition, but avoid any collisions.
Any issues to consider?
Thanks for all the comments.
As good as the 2007FP is, I couldn't live with the 1600x1200 resolution no matter what I tried. I returned it and bought a second-hand LG F900P CRT instead, and I'm much happier with it.
Are long filenames (of desktop icons) truncated in the same character regardless of DPI? Could this be unique to Vista? In XP, names are truncated earlier when using higher DPI (e.g. 120%).
Besides text size, don't you find 800x600 images look tiny compared to what they look like in lower...
I just bought a Dell 2007FP 20 inch screen. It seems to be a good screen in terms of display quality, but I find its 1600x1200 optimum resolution to be a problem - text is simply too small to read comfortably. The high resolution also dwarfs 800x600 images posted in most websites. In fact, most...
I've been out of the hardware scene for a while and just noticed that current boards have a new cooling construction on them:
--> image of a motherboard with said construction marked with blue arrows
When did those start appearing and what are they supposed to cool? Is there any reason why...
There are many uses, here are two that are quite typical:
1. Testing connection speed to a site I frequent (such as my mail provider - fastmail.fm). This allows me to isolate speed issues. If it's slow from both ends of the ocean, then the slowness is probably due to my mail provider and not...
I'm occasionally using a UNIX text terminal (freeshell.org) when I want to test browsing/mail from abroad. The only problem is that it's a text terminal, which means the browser choice is very limited.
What I'd like find is a similar service that offers Windows terminals with a graphic user...
Well guys, your advise did sound promising but things turned out to be a bit more complicated. I tried v71.89 and UT was unusably slow. I even had difficulties moving the cursor to browse the game's menus. I then tried v30.82 and all is well again. Thanks anyway.

Is the latest one the best? Does NVIDIA still update their driver components for old cards? Should I just stick with the built-in WinXP driver?
Many questions, hopefully this forum has the answers... :)
Thanks,
Oren
Thanks for this information.
I just built up an AV8-based computer. I haven't installed Windows yet, but yellowTab Neo works fine with it. The only problem I had was that the board couldn't detect my WD drive. It turned out to be a jumpering issue - the drive was jumpered as Master instead...
