The V2 is very sensible to cable lengt and quality. I think the only cure is tp get a hold of an original V2 cable. Isn't there a forum here at anandtech for 2:nd hand stuff? You might find what you are looking for there. Good luck

Please excuse me for jumping into this thread with a different, but somewhat related question, but I feel this is the place to ask :) I have heard that the dot pitch is what limits resolution in an sence, but that you can at times have a higher rez then what the dot pitch would normally allow...
