2GB users - need your help

As I understand it the DDR400 spec doesn't allow runnning two sticks on the same channel at 200mhz, so motherboards either drop the timing to 2T or set the memory clock to 166mhz and leave it at 1T. I'm curious whether a 4 DIMM config can be run any faster than this - if the m/b doesn't allow...

2GB users - need your help

There is no review anywhere that benchmarks 4x512mb sticks on a 939 board but I know someone out there must be running with this config! All I want to know is how fast you can overclock your memory at 1T command rate. If you set your memory to 1T, how fast can you run the FSB and at what...

    4GB of RAM

As far as I know no 939 board will support registered memory, you'd need a 940 board and an Opteron for that. I can't think of a good reason using registered memory has anything to do with the capacity, it's more that the huge modules find more use in server configurations so they generally come...

    Overclocking with 4 DIMMS

Hello, I'm building a new box w/2GB of RAM and wondering whether to use 4 512mb sticks or 2 1GB ones. All the memory tests and reviews seem to use two (512mb) sticks so I'm wondering if it's possible to overclock with 4 modules - I know the timing will get autogimped to 2T by the board but...

    Best way to get 2GB

Thanks for the link, at least now I know double sided will run dual channel:) I read that single sided modules tend to overclock better and run at 1T with a higher memory clock - anyone have any experience with that? If that's the case I would still try to go for single-sided 512s despite it...

    Best way to get 2GB

I'm building an A64/939 system with 2GB of RAM and I've read that the A64 memory controller doesn't support DDR400 operation with more than 1 double-sided DIMM in a single channel so I'm wondering what's the fastest way to use 2GB of ram - 4x512mb single sided? I would prefer to leave two slots...
