personally i like to sit on a pile of cash and take 6 months to get all the parts in time. ie.. wait for the great deal on individual parts
but hey thats just me i have more time than money
i just built a comp on a ds3 and i got to say smoothe as butter.
tossed in a hd with windows on it already and it fired up first try.(reformated after of coarse)
if you get a ds3 do your homework on memory ( i went with 2 gig patriot 667)
i use this one Biostar Tforce 939
i chose it due to price stability ease (and i do mean easy) of overclocking.
best easy to oc board ive used .
solid as a rock never a problem and you can just go into the bios and pick a 25% oc and it sets everything. OR you can manually jack it up...
i know its not on your list but ive built 3 comps on 939 biostar boards with NO issues and very easy and good oc abilities
just a thought from the peanut gallery
Im a huge amd homer that just built a conroe system.
but here is a point i havent seen often. amd seems to dominate the low end for example wal-marts computers are mostly amd. Im betting that low end ma and pa want a computer to surf the net is a big hunk of $$$
