I agree, if it can handle the standard HTPC tasks, there's really no need for the higher performing chips since they'll just run up your power bill faster. I'm really interested to see some HTPC tests done with the Bay Trail version.

Why are neither of these two 256MB cards showing up in a search at Newegg? When I search for "8800GT" only the 512MB cards pop up.

I just checked Amazon.com and the HD-A2 is showing up as $231.63 with Free Super Saver Shipping. That's well below the $250 threshold that most people have cited as the point at which they will buy an HD player. EDIT: Updated to reflect slight change in price and inclusion of free shipping.
