I already have everything installed once. I just went back and retried the EFI string as you mentioned. 10.5.5 is already installed.
Very odd... Apple+O for me doesn't do anything. I still have a mouse I can move around but no other interface elements. Just a blue background. =\
That seemed to get me one step closer. Now when I boot, I land on what I think is the login screen but with a black background and a mouse pointer. This is where I was at when using an outdated version of the Weaksauce's package. I'm guessing there's a conflict with the video driver or...
If by combine both, you mean this step...
f. Click "Add EFI Strings/Boot Flag"
i. Click on the "GFX String" button (unless you have your own driver) and install the ATI or Nvidia card
of your choice; you also also do a "Custom GeForce hex" for a card like a Quadro FX 5600,

Ok... I did a fresh install with the latest package. Followed the directions strictly. Now when I boot, I get hung up at the gray apple screen with swirly progress icon. It spins for a short while and then it stops. I've tried booting with "-f" but no luck there. Any ideas how to get around this?
Thanks for responding, swilso! I "think" I have the latest package but maybe not. The modified date on the zip I downloaded is 11/21 so it's probably the next to latest according to the timestamps on that site you linked.

I finally got around to installing tonight and I'm having one small bit of trouble. Maybe someone following this thread can advise me on next steps. I'm using the GA-P35-DS3L and an Asus 7300GT Silent 512mb video card. The problem is that I'm getting a black login screen with a visible mouse...
