I finally got around to trying to fix this issue again, and by pointing Vista to the drivers in "\Windows\System32\DriverStore", everything was installed properly. I have Vista installed on my V drive, so perhaps something in the registry changed and it was looking in my C drive.
I'm having very similar issues. After I moved my computer and reconnected everything, Vista can't find drivers for the mouse, keyboard, printer, or bluetooth dongle. Considering many of these don't need drivers at all and already worked on this exact computer with Vista, I really don't know...
It seems unplugging my USB devices drastically reduces the POST time.
I couldn't POST with 0701 and E6600 but I was able to access the BIOS and update from a flash drive (you need to rename the .ROM file).
I just finished building my system but the POST seems to take a very long time to finish. It is set on quick and the BIOS is 1101. Anyone else notice this or know if there is a fix?
The red cables are 28awg while the orange is 26awg. I assume that means the orange are better (more resistant to interference and stronger).
Asus said I don't need a new BIOS for the E6600 and I should be able to post with the 0701 and update it manually. Is this correct?
Den is right. Many of my shipments that leave Cali (I'm in NY) show no status for a couple/few days while they drive. It isn't a glitch; it is a long drive.
All you guys flipping out about people complaining and calling them stupid are just showing your own intelligence. There is a reason that people are upset with Newegg; they advertised lower prices for a product but then raised them extremely high once they actually got the product. They have...
I called Buy.com and asked about the E6600 I ordered and they said it is in stock but it will take 1 to 2 weeks to ship at the maximum. I wasn't completely confident in that answer but that is what they said.
A lot of you also seem to forget that the prices mentioned in reviews were NOT MSRPs. They were the prices the resellers pay Intel when they buy 1000 units. Granted some of the bigger guys may get it cheaper but that still doesn't mean they will sell it at that low price. $400 for an E6600 is...
Turns out I had AA and Anisotropic filtering turned on in the Radeon display porperties. Once I turned them off I got 12539. A little better I'd say. Thanks.
I believe so. I just installed it and clicked run.
Here is what the result said:

I build a computer a month ago but I feel like it isn't tweaked as well as it should be. I just ran 3DMark 2001 and got a score of 5910. That isn't very good is it? Also how can I be sure my FSB is 333mhz? It shows up as 166 everywhere. Is that because it is really 333mhz with DDR? Any ideas on...
I was looking at the Radeon card, and I must say it looks like the better card. Now can anyone tell me the difference between the $91 and $94 cards at Newegg? It looks like for $3 more the clock speed is a bit higher? I think Ill end up getting one of those even though ATI's driver support is...
