I am planning a Windows 7 Pro build in November.
Any reason not to just get the Vista 64 bit Business with upgrade coupon right now for $149? I'm assuming when it comes time to build I would just install the Vista and then download upgrade and install over that.
Don't mean to be hijacking this thread but I've been thinking of building a really cheap PC to serve as a SageTV server. Do you guys think it would be just as good buying one of these Dell outlet PCs? I'm concerned about expandability, especially in terms of disk.
Ok - this is my first build usually sata drives.
I have Asus p5W DH and 3 sata drives. When I run winnt, it says it does not see a disk with enough space to install xp. My drives are WD 250gb and Seagate 320 gbs.
When I run fdisk, I see 3 fixed hard drives but only 40mb and 42mb for the...
First time building with Sata drives. Drives are 3.0 Gbps, I'm assuming that's SATA II ?
Need to get cables but there are so many available, what do I need? I'm assuming anything that says SATA 150 is not compatible?

I'm now thinking of going P5W DH for dual IDE. I'm thinking I can use an older IDE HDD as a scratch drive. Do you think that's a good idea?
