ebay is probably a good start. It sounds like there is more wrong with it than the display though. Do they (or you) have the cash for a referb eeepc or something? I see them for under $200 a lot. You'll spend about that on a new LCD and MB (and probably battery too).
DDR3 is still a waste. If you were asking this question a few years ago it would sound like this:
"I have a P4 and DDR rRAM, should I upgrade to a Pentium 5xx and 2 GB DDR2 533 for hundreds of dollars?"
The answer then and now is the same. No. By the time you can use the DDR3 in a new...
NO ONE does that (except for me and the computers I sell). You're lucky if it comes with a disk WITH the bloat, most of the time there is just a recovery partition.

Looks good! the RAM might be a little overkill for your needs, here's some 667 that should handle OCing that 4300 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16820134046
Not sure about timings and what not but it's worth a look, might help ya save some cash for a x1950xt, or get the GA...
That all looks good to me. If that PSU is the Antec Neo HE 430 with 3 16A 12v rails it should be fine. For ideas on real world power consumption look at what MB reviews show ie. http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=2964&p=11
The highest draw is 355W under load. Those 1kW PSUs are ridiculus.
