bump - I am having the exact same problem. I originally had a hd 4850 that did tearing. then i upgraded to a hd 5850 without tearing ran, perfect! Then i just purchased a hd 6950 and a horizontal line 3/4 down the bottom appears only on Video/Movie play back. Its very distracting...
