I'm looking for a 17" flat panel monitor that costs about $1000. I'd like it to perform well (or even decently) in watching dvds and in gaming. I've narrowed my search to the Samsung Syncmaster 170T, the Syncmaster 770TFT, and the Viewsonic VG175. Any helpful comments?

Bear with me, I'm a novice. My computer locks up an awful lot (esp. in 3d games but not exclusively). It boots up just fine, but it seemingly chooses random times to freeze. I've tried setting the memory at 100Mhz instead of 133, hooking up the Deskstar to the ATA 66 instead of the Promise...

What exactly does "one per two customers" mean? Would I have to bring a friend on sunday just to buy one?
