Is there a bug with BIOS 1303 and HTT multi 4x?
I am running my 3800+ x2 @2400 (10*240) but CPU-z 1.36 reports the HTT speed 719 (3*240). I have re-checked the multi and it is set to 4x.
Anybody with the same problem?
I got my ASUS A8N32-SLI (rev1.01) Deluxe two days ago. Replaced an A8N-SLI SE.
Didn't want to spend +700? for a Core 2 + DDR2 + ASUS P5B.
Right now I am runinng my 3800+ x2 at 2400MHz. Testing with SP2004 Orthos Edition @ 1.4125Vcore
1. Your SATA should be on SATA1
2. Both your CD and DVD-R should be set to Cable select. To do this you should take them out and see in the back a label with the following three markings Master, Slave and Cable Select. Set this to Cable Select (CS). These two drives should be connected to the...

If this is the case it seems that DOS memtest is not sensitive enough. In Windows I use Prime95... what kind of Windows memtest are you using? Also are you using memtest 1.51?
I would suggest to set the voltage to 2.8V since this is the recommended setting. 62C seems very high...

Tests:
A) A have tested RAM at 239 & 240MHz with 2.5-4-4-8 1T both SUCCESS. At 241MHz 2.5-4-4-8 1T RAM FAILED.
@240 1T
@241 1T
B)I have set to DDR333 divider with my current settings (9x250) and the machine hanged at the bootup BIOS screen (with strange graphics...!)...
I have upgraded to BIOS 1006 but I still cannot run at 1T.
Just one word of caution: I would appreciate if everyone tested their systems THOROUGHLY before reporting results. Prime95 for 10 min is NOT considered a valid stability test.
I personally test my settings overnight and then I...
I have just set my 3000+ to 9x250=2250MHz (1.462V) and my Ballistix DDR500 to 250MHz (1:1, 2.8V) 2.5,4,4,8 2T.:)
The system is rock stable at these settings. However, changing to 1T gives errors in memtest 1.51.
I will benchmark and let you know on the results.
I suggest to flash to latest BIOS 1009. BIOS 1009 final
Set the overclock option to auto so everything is default.
Download memtest from www.memtest.org and run it with both sticks in A1 & A2, then with B1 and B2 etc.
Do things ONE STEP at a time. Write down your current settings and...
Happy New Year!
Since you don't play much, 9600 will do the work just fine. The machine is rock stable (even though I am running at 2300MHz, 27% higher than stock MHz)
I would suggest the ASUS A8V-E
For PS I have the Tagan 480 (top reviews everywhere)
For memory get two sticks branded memory. Qualified for this board:
