Core i7 IMCx3 chanels x1066Mhz x 8 Bytes (64 bits) = 25 584 MB/s
Core 2 MCx2 chanels x 1333Mhz x 8 Bytes (64 bits) = 21 328 MB/s
there's still some improvement and the latencies are better :)
I have 75-80C @ full load (30 min prime95-sandra/core temp - real temp) whith a E2160@stock and a E8400@stock / 25-30C ambiant temp , is it normal or should i change the stock HSF?
Is there a rique of stability issues?
Will this shorten le life span of the chips?
According to this doc : SMP3860, can decode h.264 up to Level 4.0 but for Bluray where it can L4.1.
What this mean ? The chip cannot decode MKV/x264 @L4.1 ?
I project to buy a "popcorn hour A110" Based on this chip. Will it decode my HD RIP ?
(300 meg / 20 min) x 2 = 0.5 meg / sec : i dont think that it is a hdd speed limit.
a faster CPU or a more "core'ed" CPU would translate to a faster transcoding.
Pentium D @ 3.4 Ghz decode 1080p with ~ 70% CPU occupation (x264 enc / ffdshow dec). And it's way less efficient than a C2D @ 2.4 Ghz.
Question : Is x264 encoded content is GPU H/W accelerated ? MKV played with ffdshow for example?
Is the standard boxed intel cooler for a E8400 @ stock speed sufficient, with ambiant temp that can go up to 35°C. Should i go for a more performing cooler ? (Always@ stock speed)
