Screen resized down, but not up without reboot - oddest problem ever.

Additional specs include a Samsung 712N which worked fine before the problem.. I've since grabbed the drivers from Samsung, but all they appear to do is rename the device; no change. Mobo is an Asus A7v880, or the closest match to that set of characters. Umm.. Geil 2x512 2-6-2-2... A...

Screen resized down, but not up without reboot - oddest problem ever.

So yeah, the topic is pretty self explanatory. I guess this has been happenning ever since I installed ROSE - some acronym for a free mmorpg which I shouldn't be playing sincei t's finals time anyways. The equipment is AMD 2500 OC'd to 10x200, Connect 3D 9600xt at stock rates. I've tried...

    Asus A7v880 noboot/nobeep

Got a new mobo, this one is functional, although very hot. Thanks for the help. Oh, and just browsing through firmware updates, I found this interesting entry in v1003 release notes "Fixed some Duron CPU can not boot will hand post code "C1h" issue."

    Asus A7V880 Core Voltage Range

It goes from 1.65v to 1.85v Manual says there's some overvolt setting which brings the range to 1.75v to 1.95v You can't put less than 1.65v through your chip. This motherboard runs hot as hell, by the way. (42C+ in my antec lanboy with both 120's at full)

    Asus A7v880 noboot/nobeep

I left pretty much all of the jumpers stock, but did clear the cmos a couple times through my attempt to get the thing working. I'm pretty sure I didn't leave it in the clear position, after clearing once it did it the first few times, but that's a good call because the board did have similar...

    Asus A7v880 noboot/nobeep

I can't even get to the BIOS in order to change fsb settings, and I don't believe it can be set with jumpers. Heatsync was on straight, and yeah.. I've made some chipkilling mistakes in the past so I don't think it's overheating. I'm just miffed because if the cpu is in and the ram is not, it...

    Asus A7v880 noboot/nobeep

Thing just kept running.. Memmory was Crucial PC2700 (not sure of exact model), Antec 430Watt power supply, Radeon 9600XT. Fans spin, nothing shuts off, and nothing goes anywhere.

    Asus A7v880 noboot/nobeep

Well, it was my first asus, so someone else would have to answer that one.

    Asus A7v880 noboot/nobeep

My situation is the following.. I bought a motherboard from ZipZoomFly, Asus A7v880. I install it with everything, even all the little front-audio connectors and everything.. but I wasted my time because it won't boot and doesn't throw a beep code. I call up Asus tech sup, and follow the...

    KT880 or Abit NF7-S2?

I'm trying to make a similar decision, a7v880 vs a7n8x-e for my upgrade. The a7v880 is looking pretty nice... Last time I bought a spanking new board I got kinda screwed - options in the bios got downgraded over a series of firmware updates, and while the board has treated me alright for the...

    a7v880 vs a7n8x-e

These two mobos seem pretty comparable in their features - SATA, spdif, gigabit lan.. I'm basically just looking for a solid personal use box, and am pretty sure I wanna go with the a7v880.. I'm just wondering, is there any reason I should not do so? edit: btw, yes, I know.. wrong section...

Mobo upgrade w/ higher fsb, same chip usable?

    Alright, great. :) Thanks, guys.

Mobo upgrade w/ higher fsb, same chip usable?

I'm not concerned about the board's ability to run at 133Mhz, I'm worried about the chip's ability to run at 200Mhz.

Mobo upgrade w/ higher fsb, same chip usable?

I'm running a Coolermaster Aero 3.. Hmm.. Okay, but do you know for sure that the 133Mhz chip will function with the 200Mhz board?

Mobo upgrade w/ higher fsb, same chip usable?

Hey guys, long time listenner, first time caller.. I'm presently running a Dragon Ultra KT333 (black) and recently did an upgrade of most components with the exception of board and memmory. Part of this upgrade was an AMD Athlon 2500 Mobile with a 266Mhz front side bus. The black KT333...
