If you don't have BTS, you should download Rhyze and Fall (I think that's how Rhyze is spelt.) Link to Civ IV mods: http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=1 IIRC, you don't have to sign up to download the mods. There's also a forum for Civ IV: Colonization.
