    page file on SSD

One thing I wouldn't do is put the swap file on a mechanical drive. To me, you would just be doing your SSD experience a disservice as you'd be re-introducing the slow mechanical drive back into the OS stream. The whole point of getting the SSD is to increase speed and responsiveness.

    page file on SSD

Well, if you have 12-16GB of RAM and you let Windows handle the swap and the SSD is only 120GB in size then you will have a 12-16GB swap file which is 10-15% of total drive space. That's an awful lot of wasted space for a swap file they is hardly going to be used. If you only have 4GB of RAM...

TRIM Firmware starting to show up

TRIM firmware is starting to show up for certain SSD drives. I believe OCZ Vertex and Agility is available as well as Crucial M225. I have a Crucial M225 128GB, and I have flashed to the latest firmware (1819), but I have noticed that over time I start to lose write performance. If I do a...

New MB and OS, Jitter and Lag

When I used Windows 7 RC (7100), I had an issue with my onboard NIC as well. It would stutter terribly. I disabled it and added a different more well supported NIC (an Intel NIC), and my stuttering issue went away. When I went back to Windows Vista and re-enabled the onboard NIC, it worked fine...
