Thanks for the quick responses. I'll be using it mostly to run a 32 bit Oracle Database on linux 9.0. A 64 bit processor would unnecessarily add more complexity to it, that's why I would like to stick to P4. Should I be concerned about any compatilbility issues in motherboard/RAM/cases?

first select the option which boots the system then do the following: run --> msconfig --> BOOT.ini --> Check All Boot Paths it will show your previous installation wich doesn't exist anymore, remove it. hope this helps.

same thing happened to me too after installing it.

did you ever try to do a disk cleanup? it gives you an option to compress the files to save some space. and when you do that, the compressed files are displayed in blue color.
