"3rd master hard disk s.m.a.r.t. status bad, backup and replace"

Unfortunately, I'm running the 64 bit version of windows and so it won't let me install it. are there any other tools I could download and use? I really don't have anything to back up, aside from by progress in some games, since it is so new, so I'm in fairly good shape there.

"3rd master hard disk s.m.a.r.t. status bad, backup and replace"

I haven't had my new computer built for more than a week, and suddenly I'm getting this message on my new Hard Drive. The Hd is a WD4000KD, and my computer is a non overclocked dual core x2 4400+ with a a8n32 motherboard. 2gb of memory. I haven't noticed any visible slowdown or anything...

Windows XP 32 bit / 64 bit LAN

Just so you know, I got it working - thanks for the help. The problem was I had zonealarm on my 32 bit machine running, and shutting it off screwed it up. I can just turn it back on when i'm done moving stuff. Speaking of which, I wasn't able to install zonealarm or Norton on my new PC...

Windows XP 32 bit / 64 bit LAN

What kind of driver issues could it be? I think I have all the latest drivers for my hardware on my new computer - I suppose my old one might need an update, but I don't know. And what is a spark gap issue? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Windows XP 32 bit / 64 bit LAN

    1) How many pc's on your LAN? Well 2, counting this one, that are physically connected. My PS2 is also connected, and there is a computer on a wireless connection downstairs. 2) What operating systems do the other pc's use? All XP, except this one which is XP 64 bit 3) Can all pc's...

Windows XP 32 bit / 64 bit LAN

I just started using Windows XP x64 on my new computer, but I can't connect to my network in order to transfer files to my new computer. Is this not possible because the operating systems are not compatible, or is there some sort of work-around? Thanks

    wd4000kd Help

I'm using an A8N32 by the way. anyway, I don't know how to boot from the CD, it immediately goes to windows setup, and I either have to continue with the setup, repair, or quit, and if I try either of the first two it stops me and says "can't continue, no hard drive detected" SATA drives...

    wd4000kd Help

I just built my new computer, and it won't recognize my hard drive. I have it hooked up, with both the power cable and the other cable hooked up. I go to raid configuration, though I don't know what that even means quite frankly, and it shows up on the left side, but not as a "logical drive". I...

    Athlon 64 X2 4400+ vs 4800+

I'm building it myself Zoz: I'm really in the exact same boat, but I didn't know I could fry anything or decrease the life of the processor. I didn't know there were really serious consequences aside from voiding the warranty. Can any overclockers confirm or deny this?

    Athlon 64 X2 4400+ vs 4800+

Well, I have a 600W power supply, and the rest of the components, as far as I can tell, support the option of overclocking. As for the the heat, would that be a problem with the stock heatsink? From what I'm hearing, it's safe and easy to overclock considering the system I am setting up, so even...

    Athlon 64 X2 4400+ vs 4800+

I was under the impression that overclocking a lot would produce a lot of heat and so forth. I really know very little about overclocking, but I wasn't planning on getting liquid cooling or anything, and really wasn't looking to get any fans other than the 3 that come with the case and the stock...
