got this notebook from a friend for free... Need a New HD and a AC Adapter. My question is how do I know what kind of AC adapter to get for it.. It came with no documentation and Compaqs web site is about worthless. If anyones got this notebook and could give me some info i would appreciate it...

Have a power supply that came with a generic case i bought. Removed the power supply cause it did not work, but the fan works fine. Can I use that fan as a case fan with out modding. Also, how do you measure the fan size dia? Want to use the old PS fan as an front intake fan on the case. Thanks...

Installed the SB live X-Gamer in win2000 It works fine too...no problems i can detect with the new sound card. Just the Found new hardware problem. And it wants to install the AC 97 stuff. BTW I did save the bios settings. Thanks again!

Ok did that and it worked fine But i Still get the WINDOWS message FOUND NEW HARDWARE AC 97...........should i go ahead and install those drivers again so it will stop giving me that damn message everytime i boot up? Thanks for your Time!

Disabled the Soundblaster deal in the bios but what else needs to be disabled. Since i diabled that and UNINSTALLED MSI sound drivers everytime i boot windows finds new hardware...the MSI sound stuff...AC something i think. Anyhow a step by step to disable would be cool! Thanks in Advance!!
