It should be stated that only *CERTAIN* games do not benefit from cpu performance. However, MOST new games, and ALL future games will be heavily cpu/gpu bound. If you look at the 3dmark06 benchmarks you'll see the scaling move up as you add additional CPU performance. This will only continue...

PATA in small storage sizes are cheaper, but PATA becomes seriously more expensive than SATA if you go over 200gb!!! Look at the cost of a 500gb sata2 (w/ncq) drive (129$-139$), comparing to 189-200$ for PATA.
