Thats it, hub is only 10/100Mb/s. Speed I was seeing was probably 10MBytes/s which would be about correct.

I have a Buffalo Linkstation LS-WXL and question whether it is actually any faster in Raid 0 rather than Raid 1? I have tested but both seem to max out around 10Mb/s. Has anyone else tested one of these at anything faster than that in Raid 0.

Addonics box is quite interesting. Now if only they did that with direct SATA connections rather than USB that would be perfect.

What is the best way to get some SATA drives attached to a Windows network as NAS. Are there any small/cheap NAS/SATA adapters or similar devices available. At the moment I have them attached through an old Buffalo Linkstation but that is a bit limited and doesn't really provide full NAS...

Probably because I am looking at the net cost without Vat not the gross. Scan have the A8-660 for £58.65 net.

Any suggestions for which Asus FM2 or FM2+ mobo to go for. CPU will be either A8-6500 (Richland) or A10-7700 (Kaveri). This is for a basic, but snappy, Windows 8 Office workstation.

Is AMD A10-7700 Kaveri worth the extra over a A8-6600 Richland? Price difference in the UK is £91 over £59 so only £32 different which is not a lot in overall build cost.

Any idea what the max graphics resolution is on the A8-6500, will it run 1920 x 1080?

Looking at say AMD A8 6600 - 4-core, 3.5Ghz, Richland core, Radeon 8570D @ 800Mhz, running at 65W. Anything wrong with that as a place to start.

Anyone know if one of these AMD CPUs with built-in ATI graphics works out the box with Windows 8.1 native drivers? Reason is I do not really want to have to install ATI proprietary drivers if I can help it, way too many problems with them in the past. To be honest I have always previously used...

Thats where I started looking as we are a Dell Premier Partner and have sold a number of Dell servers. Problem is their workstations seem to come out rather expensive for what they are.
