No, the warranty comes standard. And most of those 3rd party "ebay" warranties are for money back in current value, or a repair. I don't want that, I'd prefer a replacement of the same product or replacement model.
Yeah but the ones on eBay don't come with the 3 year advance exchange warranty. 2 years from now if I get some weird glitch, I like knowing I can call them and have a new one at my door in a couple of days. I don't mind paying a little extra for that.
It's on sale until Thursday and I'm thinking of blowing the money on it, but I know they've had a bunch of revisions, some good, some crappy. Anyone know which revision is shipping now, and the ups/downs of it?
Thanks.
It's still build 5600 though under dxdiag, so this makes no sense!
Either way, I'll be getting Vista Ultimate (compliments of Intel) in a few weeks. But I'd sure like to know what's happening here, I've never seen anything like this.
No, it doesn't say evaluation copy on the desktop. Here's the screenshot: http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/9919/herewegowb3.jpg
I just checked 'dxdiag', and it says the build ver. is 5600, which is RC1! So that confirms it didn't "update" itself to the final version, which is impossible as...
So yesterday morning I notice that things are all of the sudden running much smoother, faster, stronger. My boot time was also quicker when I restarted. And then I noticed that when I opened Photoshop CS2 it no longer disabled Aero. An update must've downloaded the previous night, of the...
EDIT - After some more troubleshooting I have determined that the problem is a pair of Corsair 1GB x2 667 sticks that I have. Once I removed them the board worked flawlessly. Odd that a new board has problems where the previous model did not with the same memory. Whatever. Looks like I have...
I'll be getting Vista Ultimate next month, and am still bouncing back and forth between whether to install the 32 bit version or the 64 bit version.
I've tried the beta's and rc1/rc2 and I'm very impressed at how many drivers they kept up on. You have to do almost no work to get it up and...
Yeah even under Windows XP it isn't recognized correctly. Either way, we sent it back and are getting a replacement on Monday. (Newegg.com's RMA process is painfully slow)
I've built a number of computers in my day, and have lots of PC experience, I have even asked many people I know, and no one has an answer.
I built a computer for a friend last week with a DFI Lanparty NF4 SLI-D board (only relevant for driver issues, which I can't find any). Anyway, I got...
Last night I used Speedfan, and as soon as I opened it, my monitor buzzed and the screen shifted to the right and I had to correct it using the buttons.
And then when I shutdown my computer, my monitor didn't turn off. Instead, a white box about 80% the size of the screen is displayed... but...
Believe me, I prefer AMDs. Intel can't do much right (besides the Pentium M) anymore. I can't wait for this new PC with flamethrower CPU to heat up my room. :D
