    Onboard nic malfunctioning

I tried your solution anyway, but it only made the NIC work for a limited period of time, after which it became unresponsive again. I managed to install a PCI network card, and I don't have problems anymore. It's interesting that I can download a file using the onboard NIC at around 10-20% of...

    Onboard nic malfunctioning

Well, I already said that this works. Resetting the PSU (off/on) or unplugging/replugging the PC makes the onboard nic operational again, but only for a limited period of time. The problem is that I have to do this on a daily basis, and that the transfer speed is around 10% of what it should be.

    Mobility Radeon x2300 and H264

Yes there is a HD 2300. See the specs here. It's an x2300 with an Unified Video Decoder (UVD). It's used in Acer TravelMate 6592G, for example.

    Onboard nic malfunctioning

Thanks for answering. I'm not using any PPPoE software, just the support provided by Windows XP. I conect through a broadband connection that requires a username and a password, created with the New Connection Wizard. I'm not using any modem - the cable that is connected to the onboard nic...

    Onboard nic malfunctioning

I have an nForce4 Ultra motherboard with an onboard Nvidia network controller (nForce4 CK8-04 Marvell 88E1111/1115). I'm using WinXP SP2 and I have a broadband connection (PPPOE) which uses DHCP. I don't use a modem or router, I'm connected directly to my ISP's switch. For ~6 months everything...

    Mobility Radeon x2300 and H264

I was looking to buy the Asus F3Jr notebook, which has an ATI x2300 GPU, when I noticed that in x2300's official specs is not mentioned H264 support. I knew that this GPU was based on the x1300, which does accelerate H264 content - did they disable this in the x2300 in order to promote the...

Ink drying out and choosing printers

Thanks for the answers, guys. Paperdoc, if you're curious about refilling a cartridge with a rubber bag inside, check this and this. It doesn't seem very complicated. Tungtung, an HP Business Inkjet 1000 is around 150$, quite affordable. It yields ~1700 pages using a 70 ml black...

Ink drying out and choosing printers

To clarify things a bit, I'm more concerned with ink drying out on the cartridge/printhead nozzles. It seems this happens more often with some printers than others. From what I've read, when it's in off/stand-by mode, the printer keeps the cartridges in a safe area which should prevent ink...

Ink drying out and choosing printers

Hi all, first time poster. I have trouble choosing between 2 HP printers, the Business Inkjet 1000 and the Deskjet 6940. The Business Inkjet 1000 is similar to the other Business Inkjets (1100, 1200 etc). It has 4 separate printheads that last 16.000 pages each. It uses an HP10 black...
