i have one of those GP drives and they are indeed slow.i feel its one 5400 drive nothing else.

put latest drivers from silicon image.i also had same issue.i was about to rma drive.but upgrading drivers helped. i am using jmicron expresscard for laptop under windows 7

i will wait for intel i 7 laptops,if i were you.
