    Early 90nm Athlon64s hitting 3GHz?

I still bounce back and forth between Intel and AMD. I favor no one because I go for best bang for the buck. But it would appear AMD is going to be the majority of my machines over the next 12-18 months or even longer because I dont see Intel competing anytime soon. Even if they could get...

    Early 90nm Athlon64s hitting 3GHz?

From the reading correct me if I am wrong but An AMD 2.2 D0 Stepping model is 6% faster in calculations than a 2.2ghz 13 micron cpu? Thats just SuperPi! But the additional enhancements may get 6% across the boards. A little math and I came up with a 3.3Ghz Opteron being capable once the 9...

First "real" Nocona vs. Opteron review?

Thankyou. I started a thread or rant yesterday about the lack of benchmarks for a new cpu release even if they could only provide 32 bit ones. As I understand it the next opteron core is getting the following. DDR2 Support SSE3 Support Improved branch Prediction I also thought AMD was...

Nocona 32 bit benchmarks? Or is this broken too?

Were not a dell house and I would like to compare it to a Opteron DL585 from Compaq/HP. Would give me more power in buying the opterons over intel based servers. You know the generalized rule that mangers are stupid people. so if intel makes a 64bit x86 cpu it must be the best. Cough Cough...

Nocona 32 bit benchmarks? Or is this broken too?

I have purchasing power input on the server side. I called my local rep (Compaq/HP) for a test system but they have no planned date when/if one will be available. Understandable but unaccepable that there are no sites reviewing the CPU. This tells me Intel's 64bit x86 cpu a very poor...

Nocona 32 bit benchmarks? Or is this broken too?

here is another thing. WHERE ARE ALL THE IN DEPTH ARTICLES of the processor and its capabilities? Whenever anyone releases a video card chip everyone analyzes the information and draws speculation to what can be expected or seen in the new chip when the time comes. NOTHING. For god sakes...

Nocona 32 bit benchmarks? Or is this broken too?

OK the chip is not broken so the problem is what? Why are there are no benchmarks and overclocking results in 32 bit? Despite it should be the same as XEON or PRESCOTT NOBODY HAS STATED THIS WITH BENCHMARKS? WHAT GIVES? I thought it was a prescott with 64bit instructions working? Not Xeon...

Nocona 32 bit benchmarks? Or is this broken too?

    If possible overclockability too?

Nocona 32 bit benchmarks? Or is this broken too?

Has anyone posted benchmarks of Nocona in 32 bit mode? I understand the lack of 64 bit benchmarks but where are the 32 bit benchmarks at the least? Or is that broken as well? A side effect of the 915 chipset? This is really a bad product launch.

    Intel, ASUS Ceased Partnership

Couldnt one just printout a part of the manual to a sticky page? Nice of them to offer it though. With soft jumpers in bios Im not sure its needed today.

Will this further though too? Does this effect other agreements for chipsets?

    Intel, ASUS Ceased Partnership

Zebo The thread title is the same as the article. I tried to find how I could change it but couldnt find it anywhere. Little Help Anyone? Beuller? Beuller? I guess Xbit should have stated ASUS drops Manufacturing Motherboards for Intel.

    Intel, ASUS Ceased Partnership

Zebo what should I change it to? Where how do I change it? I dont think ASUS would drop full Intel chip sales because Intel still sells more chips. I cant see asus dropping out of cashing in on the Intel mobo sales. Especially since they are one of the best mobo makes out there. But it is...

    Intel, ASUS Ceased Partnership

I will probably get in trouble for posting this in the motherboard section also but this really effects CPU's as well. To me this is huge since I buy 90% of all my motherboards from ASUS. I bought one Epox in the last 10 machines I built.
