Just reporting back...
Had to use the Windows Repair to revert to ,anufacturers specs of XP... not too bad actually!! No need for cds etc.. took 20 min.
Nowat least I know what to do and I think I will di this every 5 months or so as now the PC is nice and fast!!
Thanks Slikkster!!!
I am re-assured. Will check the CDs later and follow your line on this one.
I read in another forum that if you install the old HD from the original XP pc to a new PC, then it will be up and running just like that... True?
Hi All
No idea what I did wrong but the only way I canuse my pc is in safe more... This morning there were win updates available and I installed them like a good boy an restart the PC. The boot up screen comes up and then nothing.. blanck screen
I tried starting up from with Restore point...
I stand corrected.....
On the PVR software side, unless you are going for MCE, I would really suggest you look at MediaPlayer. It is free and open source and looks like MCE. I used to have it and worked fine but I was tired of the bugs so I went MCE (this just works 100% of the time) The new...
The main difference is that the 150 is found on Windows MCE system and is indeed newer and smaller factor. You may want to check out the 350 as this is a 250 with Radio and will work on MCE btw.. I have a pc with MCE (kit) and 150 installed and a 350 and they both work no worries so I have two...
prices in the US are sure lower that in europe!!!
I wil first install the additional RAM and as I am going to Chicago next week or so for work, I will see if I can be tempted in getting a card there and then.. just hide it from the custom officers on the way back..

If you can find a Radeon 9800 Pro for a good price, go with that. The next step up is the 6600GT.

great tips...
To sum it up: I need more RAM (that's 50 Euros from what I see) to bring it up to 1Gig and a better Video card with 256MB as suggested.. that will be around the 100 Euros from I can gather in town. Am I correct in assuming that AGP 8 will also fit in an AGP4 slot? The (tiny) pc...
Really appreciate the advise!!!
In a nutshell I would like to play games in a decent manner. I just changed the video card to Radeon 9250 with 128MB, the old one was Radeon 9000 with 64MB, and this makes a difference as I can now play the Incredibles for examples. However, I am now playing...

I have an HP784, Athlon XP 2600/2.133GHZ/ 266 on a Via KM 266 with 512 of RAM. The PC is getting a bit slow now and I was wondering what would be a good upgrade to jazz it up a bit... Can anybody suggest an affordable motherboard and...
