DEAD! DEll Vostro 200 slim E4500, 2GB, w/20" wide LCD $359 free shipping!

Well, nothing special .. I just went to http://configure.us.dell.com/d...&l=en&oc=brpcsff&s=bsd and it showed up as $359 ($709 - $350). I ordered and got confirmation from Dell. Few minutes after that, the site dropped the savings to $210, though. I think by the time most people came to know...

DEAD! DEll Vostro 200 slim E4500, 2GB, w/20" wide LCD $359 free shipping!

I bought one at that price ($359 before tax and $398 after tax). Pretty sweet deal for a basic system with a C2D, 2GB RAM and a Dell 20" (E207WFP)

NAS storage that can also be used in XBOX 360

I've recently started planning on a storage which can be used to store media (Photos, music and videos) and keep backups of the two laptops that we have. Currently I have a USB2.0 disk that has all the media and the backups and it is connected to the 360. Obviously the disk is FAT32 formatted...

    recommend me a linux distro

DasFox, My personal opinion is that answers like yours .. which try to be politically and technically correct do not help a new-comer like otispunkmeyer. For a newbie, he has been very knowledgable about what he wants to ask. He gave information about what he needs to do, and asked what distro...

Ubuntu Edgy Eft Scheduled for Release Tomorrow

I can't believe it when people convince themselves (and others) by trolling that this is "2006" and Ubuntu (Or insert any other Linux distro here) still doesn't find their wireless card / display card automatically... so that they can hide behind the slow / bloated / insecure / totally...

Anyone else interested in a flash-based inexpensive ultra-portable laptop?

I was looking for an ultra-ultraportable machine to carry around for meetings etc. I bought both, an IBM Z50 and a Jornada 820 (Along with Wireless and Ethernet PCMCIA cards. Its important to make sure that the cards that you're buying work on your version of WinCE / *ix that you'll install on...

Question about operating systems on laptops

If you buy a copy of XP? Then why won't you be able to install it on the laptop and get a fresh install? And even if you dont ask for a productivity software, you'll get some crap pre-installed (At least that's how Dells work)

    LCD for Gaming and TV

If this is going to be the primary TV for you, then you can consider buying a monitor with RCA inputs (Like Dell 2005FPW). I connect the monitor to the cable box through RCA directly and there's no need for any other tuner / card. If you do need a tuner, consider external ones. I disagree with...

Will I have any trouble installing this card?

Just check the Dell website which will give you detailed instructions (As if you'll need it ;-) on how to replace a card. Or just open the box .. it's quite simple really.

    firefox, it saddens me :(

I agree with the people saying that Firefox takes more memory in systems that have extra memory. I think it makes sense to take up a little more RAM if you see more than a gig of free RAM .. and speed up things a little. I've noticed firefox taking up more memory on my desktop (2GB) than my...

Anyone recommend a 'good' TV tuner card, int or USB

I am using the ATI TV wonder USB 2.0 and I am not very excited about it. Not so impressive PQ and setting up the drivers and stuff is a pain. Upgrading the drivers / software is a pain too
