Agreed. Having 8 "weak" cores kinda forces developers to load level the workload amongst as many cores as is reasonable. Can you imagine Skyrim trying to run on two or three of these cores? I think not. The game would choke as many would. This is actually great news for us PC gamers. x86...

Meh.. Not impressed at all. Really wanting a x79 build but think I'll stick with SB and hope that maybe, just maybe they will release a 8 core part later on down the line.

Yeah, the ignorance for me was actually thinking that the ISA's were actually more akin to an actual programming language than assembly code. Seeing things like AVX2 defined in that other thread was what had kinda led me to believe it was more the former than the later.
