Yes I've tried the new ROM. It's quite nice. The new Opera is excellent and the new Document tab is nice too. But I personally still like OpenZaurus 3.2 better because it looks so much better and I like it's package install system. Oh and OZ also syncs better for me.

Definitely. ;) The 5600 is very similar to the 5500.

Yeah I got that same call for the replacement plan but I decided to not do it. Hopefully I won't regret it.

The microdrives are also notorious for breaking. I've heard many people complain about their IBM microdrives failing.

I'm not quite sure why you're having so many problems. For me, installing Konqueror involved starting Qtopia desktop, right clicking konqueror-snapshot-full from the "Software" tab then hitting install. It downloaded and installed and I was set to go. This was under OZ 3.2 by the way.

Well to move it I know you can just hold-click the document name in the document tab and select the new location. To copy though, I guess you'd either have to: Upload the file again through Qtopia desktop. Or the 'expert' way ;) to do this would be to fire up the Konsole program and type cp...

Definitely. Also there's the fact that running Linux is just way more 1337 than running M$. ;)

OZ is definitely prettier/more customizable. But yes, using the Sharp ROM to get a feel of how the system works is definitely recommended, especially if you don't have a Linux background. Personally, I found OZ to be a better version of the Sharp ROM in every way except for maybe the sync (I had...

Oops. Fixed now. Edit: OK nevermind. I'd thought it was my fault but this forum software is too retarded and adds a http:// before the ftp url. I've now made it a non clickable url to get around this bug.

Are you in Windows or Linux? If it's Windows then the file is ftp://ftp.trolltech.com/qtopia/source/qtopiadesktop-1.6.0.exe--standard executable installer. Very easy. It has a lot of good things and is worth the upgrade. Just try it. ;)

I have it set to static IP.

To check if Qtopia desktop can communicate with the Zaurus, check the system tray (bottom right corner of the screen). If you see a green arrow, then Qtopia will be able to access the Zaurus. If you see a red, broken-pipe, then there are problems that need to be sorted out. If you're having sync...

After you add the docs.zaurus.com feed as I mentioned above and the OpenZaurus feed (instructions for that are on the Openzaurus website, you'll see a package called "konqueror-snapshot" or "konqueror-snapshot-full" show up in the list of packages. You can right click and select install to...

vette98--Sorry but on the very first page of this thread, I wrote a detailed description (step by step) of how to use software feeds. That first page also has my explanation of how to rip the Opera and Hancom office programs. You don't expect me to retype it all on every page do you? ;)
