Windows 10 is the "official" name now!

Anybody want to confirm whether or not the Music App will install on the preview?

Opera is malware not a browser!

Sorry for the late response. Unfortunately, I was unable to change my default search engine to something other than the five specified without the assistance of an extension. I don't quite know how my default for WolframAlpha carried over from the previous version, but once i switched it to one...

Opera is malware not a browser!

I've changed my default search engine since the latest update. I've got it set to use Wolfram Alpha without any sort of keyword prefacing it. You can add a search engine by right clicking into any search field and selecting the 'Make Search Option' or similar option. From there, i believe the...

    Basic Software Interface Question

If you're doing Windows programming, you can use .dll files to hold classes and structures that you would like to use elsewhere. I keep a .dll around that holds various sorting mechanisms and data structures just because i'll use them in different .NET languages.

Give me an example of "elegant" code in Python versus code in PHP?

Just to throw out my 2 cents. I think programmers usually interpret a language as 'elegant' when the language you're using seems to have been built for the problem you're trying to solve. As noted in beginner99's post, Python can look a lot cleaner and compact when it comes to some elements of...

Opera is malware not a browser!

I don't suppose there's a way they can bring back tab stacking in this chrome-based version?

Opera is malware not a browser!

FYI: The first search engine in your list is your default. Check the settings page to verify. Once your default is set, you don't have to preface your search with the desired shortcut. 's', 'w', or what have you.

PSU Buzzing Noise On New Unit

I've read multiple reviews for the Case/PSU combo and the general consensus was the small, high-rpm fan makes more noise than the fan in larger form factors. Tried Blastman's suggestion on a recent start up and the noise came back shortly after i let the fan spin up. I did some research on...

PSU Buzzing Noise On New Unit

Morning Anadtech, I purchased this Mini-ITX Case with PSU for a new build a couple days ago. After being on for a full day, i came back to the machine and it's emitting a low-pitch buzzing noise that seems to be originating from the PSU. I've listen to a few examples of coil whine and this is...

AMD destroys Nvidia at Bitcoin mining, can the gap ever be bridged?

I've not dug into it at all, but on the surface it sounds too good to be true. How do bitcoins have any actual financial leverage?

    NZXT Phantom 820

I'm guessing that's a push/pull setup going on with the air cooler. I didn't expect the NH-D14 to work better, but if that's the case, i probably won't use the H100 like i had originally planned.

Which Tablet OS for my Purposes?

The Vivo tab sounds like it would fit well as long as the aspect ratio won't bother you. I know that there are a couple apps for reading sheet music out there, but since it's full windows, you could at least use what you're used to. No idea if there are any plans for LTE on that model, so if...

    NZXT Phantom 820

I've got the same UPS unit. I did not realize that case was quite that large. How wide is it?

    Advice for database related interview

Know anything about the specific DBMS they are using? If you do, It would be helpful to look up types of backups and when/how often you should do them. The last DBA interview i had asked some of questions about what types of backups to use on databases of varying volatility.

Windows Blue Confirmed, to hit RTM in june with august release

And it might end up that you never do any one thing particularly well. At the rate they're going, Microsoft might not get more then a begrudging indifference during the life of Windows 8/blue/etc. Hopefully, they find a better way to accommodate the full range of users. One that preferably...
