I have recently built an Athlon 64 system with 4GB of memory (4x1GB DIMMs), so I might be able to give you a little advice.
If you want to run 2GB of memory it would be much wiser to go for 2x1GB DIMMs rather than 4 DIMMs. All boards will reduce the memory speed to DDR333 if all four banks...
I got the idea from a post on MSI's forum:
It suggested that the problem would be fixed by using the Maxtor firmware alongside revision 1.4 of the MSI firmware. I am aware that new nVidia SATA firmware has been embedded in the later ASUS BIOSes, so I thought it would be worth a go.
I am on...
I haven't tried this myself, but it might be worth a go!
1. Update the BIOS to the latest version:
A8N SLI 1003.002 Beta
ftp://ftp.asuscom.de/pub/ASUSCOM/BIOS/S...ipset/nForce4_SLI/A8N-SLI/1003s_02.zip
A8N SLI Deluxe (1006 or 1007.002 Beta)...
The issue with the Asus A8N SLI and CMOS resets is quite common. One of the motherboards I purchased had this issue, and it has been noted in the official thread. I am unsure if there is a work around - I would be interested to know if a new battery sorts out the problem (which it theoretically...

Have all you guys tested your memory to make sure this isn't the cause of the problem?
I would recommend a thorough check using memtest86+ (1.51) and goldmem 6.64. Personally I think goldmem is the better of the two, since I have exposed problems using this...

> If it was a badly written driver, wouldn't this affect any mobo, not jsut Asus A8N's?
If it is a problem with No Execute causing a BSOD due to an incorrectly written driver, then it should appear on any machine with a NX-capable processor - i.e. AMD64 or recent P4 - and using an...
@tmchow
You may find it's the TV Tuner driver writing to memory that it hasn't allocated, which is picked up by DEP. You may wish to turn off DEP by editing your boot.ini file in the root of c:.
/NoExecute=OptIn - enables DEP for Windows system files (default, and includes drivers)...
Further to my previous post about PC Mark 2004 crashing during the Raw Data Write memory tests, I have done some additional tests since then.
My specs:
Asus A8N SLI Deluxe
Crucial Ballistix PC4000 (2x512MB DIMMS)
Gigabyte GeForce 6600GT
With 1xDIMM there are no problems - all tests...
@mikepro
Yes, I turned off DEP too. I forgot to mention that in the fisrt post :)
It would be great in one of you guys could run PC Mark 2004 on your systems to see if it works without hanging!
Mike
Has anyone tried PC Mark 2004 on the A8N-SLI / SLI Deluxe?
I have the following system:
A8N SLI Deluxe BIOS 1003
Athlon 3200+
Crucial Ballistix PC4000
nVidia GeForce 6600GT
Maxtor DM 10 16Mb 250Gb (on nVidia SATA)
If I run PC Mark (full version) through the memory tests the machine...
