    X58 i7 DDR3 module compatibility - 8GB & 16GB DIMMs

Another interesting tid bit. http://www.upi.com/Science_New...de/UPI-16371234130551/ "The South Korean company said mass production of the 1-gigabit DDR3 DRAM chip, which uses 44-nanometer technology, will begin in the third quarter of this year, Yonhap News Agency reported." I think...

    X58 i7 DDR3 module compatibility - 8GB & 16GB DIMMs

I have a feeling, or at least hope, that you are wrong. Just a gut instinct, I think it's only a matter of time before 8GB then 16GB dimms will be supported on consumer x58. But maybe I'll email the MB manufacturers and see if I can get any kind of response.. The 8GB and 16GB modules are coming...

    X58 i7 DDR3 module compatibility - 8GB & 16GB DIMMs

Not allowed to talk about them till release. sorry. From what you can find on the web however, both ECC and non-ECC will be available. Check This Google Search for for all sorts of 8GB and 16GB DDR3 DIMM talk.

    X58 i7 DDR3 module compatibility - 8GB & 16GB DIMMs

Yes seriously. Windows Vista/Win7/WS2008 are finally using memory decently. If you think those are overkill, it's likely you have never had the need for the level of computing that others need. Pretty sure DDR3 sockets and DIMM size won't die out before even you have a use for it m8. ;-)

    X58 i7 DDR3 module compatibility - 8GB & 16GB DIMMs

Been doing some googling on the 24GB+ x58 support/compatibility issue. 3 things to note; 1. I found some talk of utilities and code modules/API usage being toyed with allowing the user to modify Vista/Win7/WS2008 to prefetch specific data utilizing spare system ram. This is the memory...

    X58 i7 DDR3 module compatibility - 8GB & 16GB DIMMs

Dang. I really wanted to do 6*8GB, perhaps I'll have to go 6*2=12GB to start, and when the motherboard gets a BIOS update for 4GB sticks I'll do an upgrade to 24GB, or better yet 6*8GB=48GB. I run all sorts of things VMWare virtual machines, video editing, Skype s4pg.us game chat rooms, tons...

*REMINDER* Not all Intel X58 motherboards support SLI

Even if NVIDIA has the fastest card on the market (at the moment of my purchase), I've decided not to go with them anymore. The requirement for the nforce chip is nothing more than a Dongle approach for them to nickel and dime people. There is no good reason that cards can't function just fine...

    X58 i7 DDR3 module compatibility - 8GB & 16GB DIMMs

I'm building my i7 system in a couple weeks. I'm lucky enough to be getting some early 8GB DDR3 sticks. In a couple months I may even be able to get samples of the 16GB single sticks... From the Motherboard reviews, it looks like they currently only support 2GB (and maybe 4GB) modules but...

ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution x58 (Video Preview Added)

I suspect that many boards that come out only supporting 2GB or 4GB DDR3 sticks, will get a BIOS upgrade later for the 8GB and 16GB sticks. I know Micron has 8GB sticks ready and is ready with its 16GB offering as soon as the industry has some boards that will use them.. Samsung has demo'ed...

Micron's PCIe SSD card - rumor

Interesting... so 64GB of ram speed cache, on.. what.. a 128GB/256GB/etc card... With even the less advanced early caching algorithms, that sounds like a pretty high hit rate for read throughput. I remember reading back with PCIe 2.0 was being discussed, people said that a memory expansion...

Micron's PCIe SSD card - rumor

I was chatting with a friend who is involved with some HPC clustering and SAN tech. He gets to test early SSD and clustering technologies and related stuff that is a bit above me. He is pretty excited about the Fusion IO stuff, he also mentioned that Micron Technologies had a PCIe based SSD...

Need suggestion for an IP KVM

This might not be especially helpful to you ATM, but TeradiciTeradici based products are shipping at the end of this month.. probably widely available just after the first of the year. I think eVGA will be the first OEM to market.. Teradici's PC-overIP technology is pretty cool. It's...

Virtual NAS software for utilizing spare drive capacity on LAN computers.

Sorry, but I must be missing something. In what way does True Image create a virtual spanned stoage drive across 35 computers's spare storage space?

Virtual NAS software for utilizing spare drive capacity on LAN computers.

I run a small lan network for a school. We have about 35 computers in the lab that each have an average of 300GB of unused space on their hard drives. I like to run alot of incremental redundant backups on campus machines with as long of history/versioning as possible. I'm hoping to find...

ASUS IPIBL-LB HP/Benicia-GL8E BIOS Flash gone bad. Need help!

I thought I did link to it. However, checking the links I noticed that the BB codes I used from another forum didn't work here and screwed up my hyperlinks. So, Here is the forum post I was referring to. Ergo, some of my answers you will understand, and some of them you will not. Concordantly...
