Lol, that's hilarious! I remember that place exactly, there was this little porch outside where I busted out my box of cereal and milk, and that guy just had the strangest conversation with me
That's so damn cool :)
Glad to hear you liked the ride, it's a really nice area of the country
It's kind of funny you mention this situation since this is exactly how I got sideswiped while bicycling in Nicaragua
Someone passed me and turned right without even looking at where I was, needless to say it wasn't fun
I wasn't injured fortunately, but the wheel of my bicycle was totaled...
There is only one long stretch of road with no gas stations in the very interior of the Baja, for about two hundred miles or so, otherwise you won't have a problem
Definitely worth a stop
All they do is tours, you can't walk around on your own
You can't even really walk up to the castle, since only busses run there and it's a good few miles up
If you want to see some pictures from it check out my site: (Starts at 5166)...
By the way, if your curious as to what to expect along the way check out the photos on my website

Oh, and don't be worried about finding a place to stay, most places have relatively inexpensive hotels which aren't really all that ghetto...
I didn't drive it, but I biked it
The roads in Baja are fairly good compared to the rest of Mexico, they are hilly, but the terrain is beautiful
You go through like five climate changes on your way down, simply amazing
According to my bicycle computer, it is 1550 kilometers from San Diego...

Day 118 ? And So It Ends
It's difficult to adjust back to the prices we have back home, especially after spending two months of being used to paying so much less for everything. A taxi to the airport cost me $20, a guy to carry my boxes cost me $2 (there weren't any carts and I can't exactly...
Day 117 ? The Final Countdown
Today I executed the plan that I had in mind for yesterday, but which I was not able to due to the fault of my guidebook. In the morning I hopped on a train from Panama City on the Pacific to the city of Colon on the Atlantic. The train is unfortunately not cheap...
Thank you everyone! Much appreciated!
Honestly, I don´t have the slighest idea since I never used a heart rate monitor or anything like that on this trip
There are guys on the street here who do ´glucose tests´ and other stuff like that, but I don´t think I´d like to trust them!
Day 116 ? Damn You Guidebook, Damn You...
In the morning I woke up bright and early as I intended to catch a train that runs along the Panama canal to the city of Colon, 80 kilometers to the north. I caught a taxi to the train station, but when I got there things seemed strangely deserted. At...
