also forgot to mention is that those "heatpipe" coolers are not suitable for overclocking use as of my knowledge. they are just good for low noise and everyday use. go get a better cooler.
what is your other number for the stepping of your cpu. i have an xp1600 too. its agioa y 0213. it works stable for me at 10.5x166@1750mhz. i have an a7v8x. dunno much about the ep0x 8k9a+, but it should be a good overclocking board. as other have said, made sure your ram is in the least...
