It's done this with two burners now. I thought it was just a dead burner, but now I think it's something else.
In "My Computer", it says DVD/RW drive, but then changes to CD-ROM when I put a DVD in and then it informs me that I have inserted a blank CD. *sighs* any suggestions?
it happens with blank DVDs, video DVDs, and data DVDs. Nero also says that my blank DVD is a CD. Oh yeah, and my system worked just fine up until a month ago.

yes, this is a clean install. I only have the Steam client running. Now, I have gotten down to 25 FPS in the map "Office" and I think it's because of the stupid ATI/nVidia differences in the cards. Doom3 gives me very little slowdown when it does get intense... darn partial precision floating...

Also, when I move fast from left to right, somethings start getting blocky, like an oppenents legs. It fragments for a brief second in squarish shapes. I've tried the latest official nVidia drivers and the newer one that I currently have installed, 7.1.2.0

I installed the drivers when prompted during the XP setup, and it even says that it will use the SATA drive as its mass storage device but then goes to the customary screen stating that I don't have an HDD. What is the matter? I'm using an ASUS A8V Deluxe with a single Hitachi 160 GB SATA drive.
