There's an easy way around the steep time problem in a coffee maker. Fill the coffee maker to maximum capacity. Use a clock/timer to measure how long it takes to empty. With these machines brew time is proportional to how much water you add, so if your coffee maker takes 8 mins to complete...
That's 200 inch-pounds, which is about 17 foot pounds.
Perhaps something like this would work:

Another for $30
I actually took off the EGR valve on saturday(edit: it was Sunday :o) and tried to clean it. I was surprised to find that the valve wasn't all that dirty. I lightly pressed the valve up and down with a screwdriver, and there wasn't any stickiness or grittiness in the motion. I looked inside...
Sorry for the late update everyone, I've been doing some reading on the net and found some interesting info.
I took the vehicle to an Advance Auto and had the code scanned, it turned out to be P1404. Typing this into google leads to tons of information on the code. This code seems to come...
Back from the test drive. I tried running it with the EGR plugged in first to make sure it was the problem. It figures, the one time I wanted it to stall I couldn't get it to
At this point I'm thinking I should get the code first, and go from there. I could take it for another test...
Battery cables are screwed on nice and tight, no problems there.
The alternator had two cables going into it. One has what looks like a plastic housing that snaps in, the other was tightened on a threaded bolt sticking out, don't think it's a connection issue. Would checking these with a...
The fuel gauge reads about 3/4 full.
I also just noticed that the battery light and the "check gauges" light came back on, as well as the service engine soon light. I'm going to look into getting the code pulled.
Edited to add: voltage reads low again
Vehicle in question: 1998 GMC Yukon 4x4
Lately the truck has taken to stalling while driving. Both times it happened in the same place, going down a moderate incline, braking up to a stop sign. The power steering goes out, I pull over to the side, and the instrument panel simply has a red...
Your first statement is true. A vehicle with a 400hp engine won't get half the time of the same vehicle with the 200hp engine. This is because the amount of energy required to increase the speed of the vehicle goes up exponentially, so if one car were to finish at 120mph and the other 60mph...
I still don't see how WOT acceleration would negatively affect the MPG though. The idea is to minimize the pumping losses to maximize the efficiency of acceleration. Once up to speed, you would shift into the lowest gear possible, again to minimize the pumping losses. I can't think of any real...
Fixed it! :D
Abit's Flashmenu said that 1.3 was the newest version, but after checking the website and installing the new 1.4 BIOS the problem went away.
