What sort of stupid comment is that?? a 3570k beats everything from AMD at stock?? 50% more performance when overclocked?? what sort of crap are you trying to imply..
I agree it is faster and better, but just throwing out such BS and going about eulogizing does not help..
In my opinion...
If AMD is able to raise clocks with the same TDP then it is a win.. mind you this is not a new revision nor has any newer technology such as resonant clock been used in this..
All in all a price cut and better clocks.. AMD is regaining VFM tag again
Temperatures as such are an indication of electron loss in the circuit.. the lost energy is radiated as heat. it is akin to pain in a human being, more the pain more the problem in the circuit;) it goes to show how efficient a processor is. more leakage implies more generation of heat that...
to put it simply, when you can get an 8-core for the price of a 4-core it will be inferior to the 4-core in anthing that does not use all its cores... so for the rest there is intel :)
you may argue about the ipc, or the shared resources but in the end the above statement is all that matters..
That is not at all true.. 8120 has many improvements compared to 860.. on the anandtech benches the 8150 beats the 860 in all benchmarks except few sysmark ones.. the 8120 is just a few ghz less than 8150 so the comparision is apt.. further the 860's have been discontinued long long ago.. you...
my motherboard has an 8+1 heatsinked vrm setup.. so i can take the 1100 for a cross country sprint if necessary:) my local dealer as of now has a special offer on the 1090t.. will that suffice?
the 8120 is just a lower clocked 8150.. i just have to raise multiplier to transform it as a 8150...
holy crap... 800w??? when 8150 and 460gtx are stressed together??? i have a s12ii 620.. it can output a max 700w if necessary but thats way way beyond normal limits... for 4.6ghz that much draw is ridiculous!!! i have a hyper 212+ for cooling purposes
i am going to pair it with a sapphire 6950...
as i already mentioned i have a 2600k for my primary rig.. this is my secondary system.. and i have bombarded myself with the pros and cons and so i am asking you guys now:P
the 8120 can be easily oc'd to 4.2-4.4 on stock volts right.. so that wont be a problem
piledriver uses a different socket right.. that would imply a complete makeover.. i have a 2600k and a p8z68-v pro for my primary rig.. this is for my secondary rig at a different city i often stay at;)...
^^precisely why i opened this thread.. another conundrum!!! two for 1100t and one for 8120.. the graphs above were the reason for my confusion.. please clear the confusion up:)
i want to upgrade from a phenom II 925. i am in a dilemma whether to choose a 1100t or fx 8120. the 1100t is supposed to be on par with 2600k and 980x when oc'd to 4+ghz..
uses primarily are video encoding and adobe suite(photoshop, premiere, after effects)
in between i will be using...
