I recently had a similar recurring issue with my Netgear firewall router... On their support forum I read that the worms running loose in the Interweb these days are getting more and more sophisticated, and from time to time can hose up your router, requiring a reset to restore normal function.

That's my question exactly... I've upgraded the driver to v3.61 (Sept 2004) from the ASUS website, and then bumped it to v3.68 (Dec 2004) using the driver from Realtek. Still can't see the optical S/PDIF port in the Realtek sound manager applet, and it thinks that there are wires plugged into...
