There is no charge for the installation. It's part of the Dell at home warranty I purchased for the laptop. Dell does not want you cracking open the laptop, so they send a tech to do the installation update drivers, test, etc.

Is it worth buying if I like UT 2004, CounterStrike, etc? I didn't like DOOM III. I don't like the dark horror graphics and I want to be able to start shooting within the first ten minutes. I have no desire to get into the plot of a game as if it were a movie, I just want to play.

You can upgrade the video card on the Dell Inspiron XPS. You probably don't need to worry about much more than that for a while...

With the Dell Imspiron XPS, you can update the graphics card under warranty and add RAM to your heart's delight. What more do you need? It's not like you are going to need a 4ghz CPU or anything any time soon...
