I wouldn't buy a case without one, but I'm greatly perturbed that I can't remove unwanted 5.25" bays like I can a lot of 3.5". I only need 1! I'd prefer the room and it's a proper place for a 120mm intake... sigh.
For the OP's usage, choosing between the 650D and the P280 I'd vote P280 without much question. I categorize the P280 as versatile (quiet or gaming or a little of both) and the 650D as enthusiast gaming with the choice of fans and fan speeds to bring the noise into tolerance.

Ahh. That is interesting. I used that as my research terminology and found people with similar issues that got similar answers. It sounds like I'll be unable to change that power setting within W7. I think my green drive is going back to my server where it belongs and I'm in the market for a new...
I'm not looking for opinions on what drive would work best for my games drive, I'm just asking if there's any reason a 5400rpm or 32mb cache drive would have any impact on performance after the map is loaded. Slow map load is the obvious downside of 5400.
How does it "kill the drive"? What's...
Problem: Intermittent skipping, stuttering, hitching, lagging during games using green 1TB hard drive.

It's a shame you are just large enough to miss the WHS computer limit (10). That is great for managing small networks and you can set it to schedule off-site backup syncs and user permissions. I don't recommend the up coming Vail version as it removes the drive extender that the previous version...
If you have it set to not save credentials (say for a public computer) it disables offline mode. If you have that setting checked maybe you can make it there and change it.
Settings > Account Tab > Don't save account credentials (uncheck)
I went ahead and built my P67 system. I have 4 SATA3 connectors which is plenty for me. It's only a defect if I'm affected, and I don't foresee that happening. When the time comes to update my wife's computer she will inherit this board, since she uses even less SATA devices than I do, and I'll...
This is so true. It was critical for me to have the disk at one time and now I prefer to have the digital copy sitting safely on the steam server for me at any time or place I need. The installation is so easy too. I just hit install and it downloads it as installed, something I don't think...
Steam Cloud is pretty awesome, as long as the game supports it.
The sales they have are amazing.
I really can't live without the steam overlay now that I'm so used to it.
Steam updates all my games for me. I believe it can also keep your gfx driver up to date as well... I'd have to...
Steam has sales on that entire franchise quite regularly, but not at the time of this posting sadly. Just keep an eye there if you are still in the market. ;)
