Decent performance. It's my system drive, so whatever's going on in the background makes it a bit spiky.

I am also interested in this deal. Wondering if it's 2 platter design, how fast it is, and how noisy it is. All reviews online seem to be for the original 1TB hitachi that was released in 2007 (which was a 5 platter drive).

I bought mine on the 20th. One day later and I coulda had the rebate. Don't think they do anything like you're suggesting. Oh well, I still got a sweet card coming.
