Best 92mm fan for Ultima 90

The Zalman F3 is apparently one of the best around. See here: http://www.xtremesystems.org/f...howthread.php?t=170224 XS Fan Roundup - Part 2 - XtremeSystems Forums

Best 92mm fan for Ultima 90

Yeah, I saw both Cathar's and Vapor's Xtreme Systems fan reviews, and I found them incredibly helpful when I was looking for a 120mm fan. Do you know of any reviews/roundups that give similar treatment to 92mm fans? Also, is there normally a large wait time before an XS member can post on...

Best 92mm fan for Ultima 90

Is the noise difference really that big? The high speed Panaflo 92 is rated for 1 dbA lower than the Zalman. Do the Panaflos just not undervolt as well? marincounty: I was stuck on the issue of PWM versus non-PWM for a while, and I finally went the traditional 3-pin way, because there...

Best 92mm fan for Ultima 90

Thanks aigomorla. You would recommend that over undervolting a Panaflo High Speed or Ultra High Speed? http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/pa92hisph1mo.html http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/pa92ulhisp.html

Best 92mm fan for Ultima 90

Hi Everyone, I'm buying a Thermalright Ultima 90 for my Q6600 B3 chip, and I'm wondering what would be the best 92mm fan to accompany it? As usual, I'm looking for high CFM and low noise. I would get a 120mm fan, but I fear that it won't fit inside my Coolermaster Wavemaster case. I've...

New Heatsink for Q6600 B3 in Wavemaster

Is the concavity considered a defect? Could you send back a concave heatsink for an exchange? Also, Midnight, would you suggest the 9500LED even over the 9700LED and the 9500AT (which is exactly the same as the 9500LED, except the fan has no LED and instead of the FanMate you're given a PWM...

New Heatsink for Q6600 B3 in Wavemaster

Midnight: from your experience, is it safe to say that any heatsink with a 120mm fan will not fit in the Wavemaster/Praetorian? Also, when you say "need" to lap, do you mean won't get good performance without lapping or just won't get the best performance without lapping?

New Heatsink for Q6600 B3 in Wavemaster

Hmm, you're right. If the 120mm fan stands the full 28 mm above the top of the ultima then the combo might not fit inside. If that's the case, I suppose I could use a 92mm and bite the noise bullet.

New Heatsink for Q6600 B3 in Wavemaster

Thanks Derwen. The reviews all seem to support what you say, so I think I'll go with the Ultima 90 (with a 120mm fan :) ).

New Heatsink for Q6600 B3 in Wavemaster

Nevermind the Thermaltake V1: that's also pushpin apparently.

New Heatsink for Q6600 B3 in Wavemaster

Thanks for all of your suggestions. Everyone: which of Thermalright Ultima 90, Zalman 9700/9500, Zerotherm BTF90, and ThermalTake Big Typhoon provides the best cooling (note, I don't have a side fan so Big Typhoon might not be the best option)? Also, what do you all think of the Enzotech...

New Heatsink for Q6600 B3 in Wavemaster

Hi Everyone, I need help choosing a new heatsink to replace the Intel stock HSF currently cooling my Q6600 B3 stepping quad core processor. I know that the stock HSF has sufficed for some, but the Wavemaster case housing my CPU has notoriously bad airflow (I'm working on that too), and I...

    Temps too hot?

Thanks for your responses everyone. Here's an update on my status. I suspected that the Intel stock fan thermal pad was ruined, because I had to remove the fan once to replace the motherboard, so I used Arcticlean to clean the heat sink and cpu, applied some Arctic Silver 5, and reseated the...
