    More Realism In Gaming

This was my first thought about the post where he wanted to control the head and body separately. That would be the most frustrating game ever!

Amazon - Huge February PC games sale

I finally cracked and bought the 2K Strategy super pack. After years of being safe from my Civilizations addiction that $15 price was too hard to resist...

    Insurance: hit & run

As it was explained to me, it didn't have to be your fault to affect your rates. If you are in a bunch of not your fault accidents, you are still a higher risk to insure so they will up your rates.

    Insurance: hit & run

I was rear ended by a driver that ended up being uninsured (not a hit and run, we exchanged info but it turns out his insurance hadn't been paid for for the last 6 months) so I initially filed a claim through his insurance and got estimates for fixing the damage which from looking at it...

    Android and car stereos

Crutchfield has good search tools for things like that. From the looks of it Kenwood and JVC both offer it, but as far as I know, none of them update the firmware of older models to support new features, mainly to correct errors in the current firmware.

Journey to Power Cable Project for my Audio system

Why am I not surprised that you have raptors in your HTPC, let alone 5 of them? For all your expensive cables and other mumbo jumbo, you have huge glaring issues with your whole setup that would cost very little remedy and could have a measurable effect on your sound...

Stereo Times reviewer holding my $80k power cables for ransom

If you really want good cabling, you need to upgrade from silver to a super conductor. Sure it's expensive to keep them cold while the music is playing, and pumping the liquid nitrogen around the listening room can look a little messy (not to mention dealing with the condensation) but the way...

Stereo Times reviewer holding my $80k power cables for ransom

You guys know as well as I do that the FSM alters these "scientific" results with his noodly appendage. The only thing you can trust as these two disciples rightly teach is your ears since his noddly appendage is totally grossed out by earwax.

    Towns

The game is still alpha so it's pretty rough at this point and new features are getting added pretty regularly. Also, the point with most of these games is that you don't have direct control over the citizens. You only influence what they do. I got the game in the Alpha bundle from Indie...

Do radical extremists just carry acid in a jar on them at all time?

Unfortunately you'd just kill her faster. To help her you'd want a weak base... Throwing a strong base on her would be like trying to save her from freezing to death by throwing her in a furnace.

Is College Worth the Investment if You are a Liberal Arts Major?

Here are some more examples from the US News National Liberal Arts College Rankings (I grabbed them from the top 12 from different geographic regions): Williams College: http://www.williams.edu/depts-programs/ Swarthmore: http://www.swarthmore.edu/academics.xml Pomona...

Is College Worth the Investment if You are a Liberal Arts Major?

Nah, it's just how it works. Generally scientists make the broad discoveries and the theory behind how it works and engineers work out how apply the theory in the "real" world. You need both types to get anything done.

    Wireless Headphones for TV/Movies.

Wireless will get you worse sound for more money, so if it were me, I'd deal with the cord and take the headphones off when I'm grabbing a beer. That being said, from everything I've heard, the Sennheiser RS160-180 are about as good as it gets without spending a ton of money. As for how they...

Why was the news/media so misleading about phone prices?

While I agree that the US carriers are overpriced, comparing them to GB isn't a fair comparison. The population density is so much higher in GB that it makes it much easier to provide coverage and upgrade your network there. I would be curious to see the cost in somewhere like Canada or...
